Helium leak testing can be performed by either:
  1. Evacuation (Tracer Probe)
  2. Pressurization (Detector Probe)

You NEED Helium Leak Testing When:
  1. Conventional methods do not work
  2. There are recurring leaks on repaired systems
  3. The item needs to remain moisture free while out of service

Why Helium?
  • It is the lightest of the noble gases with a mass of 4 (only hydrogen is lighter)
  • It is non-toxic and non-reactive
  • Trace concentrations (5 ppm) present in atmosphere
  • Readily available and relatively inexpensive
